Kellogg Company Battle Creek Plant is seeking a Project Engineer - Manufacturing Systems to proactively manage engineering in all aspects of the plant, by improving safety, sanitation, quality, efficiencies, and/or capacity. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
a) analyzing processes throughout the plant, consulting, planning, designing, and coordinating equipment installations or alterations in to effectively improve production capability and maximize assets and equipment utilization;
b) providing daily round-the-clock support for engineering-related troubleshooting for the operations areas;
c) supporting Operations Assets Effectiveness Initiatives; and
d) assisting in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment to maximize production capability.
This role also requires experience with the following:
-Allen Bradley RSLogic
-Allen Bradley PLC 5 and SLC programming including higher level function blocks (i.e. sequencers, FIFO's,etc)
-Analog control
-Variable Frequency Drives. Preferrably: Yaskawa/Magnetek
-Instrumentation (i.e. temperature, speed, flow, level control). Preferred experience with Micromotion flow meters, Acrison Feeders, Thayer weigh belts.
-HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming. Preferrably: WonderWare, Allen Bradley PanelView.
-Servo motor control
- IT networking
In this role the Project Engineer - Manufacturing Systems works closely with peers who report directly to the Technical Manager.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred; plus 2-5 years of related engineering experience is required.
- Previous Plant Operations background experience is required, with some exposure to bargaining unit agreements preferred.
- Experience with PLC's, RS Logic and VFD's is required.
- Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels is required.
- Proven proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
- Ability to work in conditions which include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended schedules, which may include nights, weekends and early morning hours, is required.
- Willingness to work in manufacturing areas is required.
- Ability to travel in this role is required.
- Willingness to travel throughout the plant facility and grounds on a daily basis is required.
- Previous working knowledge of Food Manufacturing facility and the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
