Job Description: Danotek is seeking an experienced, creative, hands-on Mechanical Engineer with a take charge attitude and extreme problem solving skills to support the development of new rotating machinery and electro-mechanical systems, with an emphasis on heavy equipment design, test, and assembly. This position will be involved at all levels of engineering from concept development, design of components, sub systems and system integration to final product release. Project management skills are essential. Experience in electric motor design and manufacturing, as well as knowledge of ProE, Solidworks, Algor FEA, is a plus. The candidate must be hands-on, innovative, detailed, and hard-working with strong analytical capabilities.
Required Skills / Functions:
• Machine Shop experience; or at a minimum a solid understanding of the role the Machine Shop has with Engineering Design and Development.
• Experience in materials (metal, plastic, etc.) and processes (machining, assembly, GD&T) for precision high-speed applications.
• Thermal and structural analysis, including calculation and FEA analysis of stress and vibration, and thermal finite element analysis.
• Hands-on experience in QC and GD&T, with rotating equipment preferred.
• Ability to run diagnostic tests for motors and generators and produce accurate, complete, and timely documentation.
• Support the design of generators, motors, and integrated controls.
• Experience with high power generators and motors highly desirable.
Temporary Contract work leading to FT employment.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Five years minimum.
