This company is seeking a Tax Accountant to work in General Ledger department to provide the candidate with an opportunity to work for a large corporation.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the U.S. Federal income tax compliance process through work paper preparation. Development and review of information supporting income, deductions and credits using tax packages. Participate in the state and local income tax filing process; calculate apportionment for separate and unitary state return filings; determine nexus. Assist with the preparation of the annual and quarterly tax provisions including calculation of schedule M items. Update FAS 109 schedules for deferred items. Assist in tax examinations of various taxing authorities. Assist with other monthly close duties.
Reports to: Supervisor or Manager.
Key Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; Advanced degree or working toward your advanced degree is a plus. A CPA license is preferred. 2-4 years of corporate tax work experience. U.S. federal and multi-state income tax return preparation experience is preferred. Prior exposure to FAS 109 will be to your advantage. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong technical expertise in the areas of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with some exposure to income taxes may be considered. Auditing experience is highly valued.
